My favorite websites is Wikipedia. Knowing ALL THE STUFF is the best way to become a master Whisperer in the Kung Fu art. Since I can't punch very hard, I have to compensate with lots of facts stuffed in my head.
I agree with you: knowing "ALL THE STUFF" is one of the most wonderful things about the internet. As a metaphorical extension of my brain, and more directly my arm, the internet allows me to feel that I have more knowledge than I immediately have access to in my physical brain. I know a lot of people think more technology is bad, but I think that technology and, more specifically, the internet is what you make of it. It can take you to the dark corners and alleys of the world or can enlighten you with all sorts of fascinating knowledge
Completely agree, Jason. I'm not the complete Luddite I appear to be. No, really! I love what the Internet has done for research and what word processing has done for writing.
You should do the experiment Pepper suggested the year before last. Essentially he wanted to know how long it'd take to get someone to fix wrong info written into an obscure Wikipedia article. We pulled up something like lima beans or something random. I think the overall point was the validity of Wikipedia as a source, but I'd find it amusing if you went through with the experiment yourself. /random thought
